چکیده
Rain events can be characterized by rain drop size distribution (DSD) that denotes the number of drops as a function diameter per unit interval and volume space. DSD (at ground level) describes microstructure precipitation during different phases varying both spatially temporally. influenced nature origin rain. The present study investigates role continental maritime airflow in influencing features near land-sea boundary. data used analysis are collected from ground-based disdrometer located at Kolkata, India, boundary year 2011–2017. dataset is divided into two categories, namely, rainfall, based on trajectories associated with exclusively Bay Bengal or land region west Kolkata derived TRAJSTAT software. extending over sea excluded for study. Variations parameters using gamma model presented showing abundance smaller whereas dominance larger case events. Z-R relations also found to significantly these types reveals microstructures location where influences climatic prevail.

Drop size distributions of tropical rain over south India
Drop size distributions (DSD) associated with tropical rainfall at Cuddalore in the south-eastern part of India have been measured by a JossWaldvogel disdrometer (RD–80 model) during September to November 2002. The rainfall data corrected for instrumental error, matches very well with rainfall rates measured by a self recording raingauge, at the same site. For further analysis of the DSD, the r...
متن کاملA new parametrization of the rain drop size distribution
This paper revisits the problem of nding a parametric form for the rain drop size distribution (DSD) which 1) is an appropriate model for tropical rainfall, and 2) involves statistically independent parameters. Using TOGA/COARE data, we derive a parametrization which meets these criteria. This new parametrization is an improvement on the one that was derived in [3], using TRMM ground truth data...
متن کاملA Maximum Entropy Modelling of the Rain Drop Size Distribution
This paper presents a maximum entropy approach to Rain Drop Size Distribution (RDSD) modelling. It is shown that this approach allows (1) to use a physically consistent rationale to select a particular probability density function (pdf) (2) to provide an alternative method for parameter estimation based on expectations of the population instead of sample moments and (3) to develop a progressive...
